At the very end "To be honest, we have to realize that everything we believe we maybe mistaken about"
ReplyDeleteI can just hear the presuppositionalist response: "Even that?"
You've got to admit, there is a mysterious force in presuppositional apologetics. Normally, Fergus and I fight like dogs, but when this topic comes up, a certain closing scene from Casablanca comes to mind!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I have had many opportunities to watch that film. Sadly, I have yet to sit through it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I kinda like the presup :-D
ReplyDeleteSye, since you are of the presuppositional path, do you think I did a fair job in representing the position?
ReplyDeleteSorry Justin, haven't listened to it yet. When I do, I'll post my thoughts, but as to your question... probably not :-)
ReplyDeleteListened to it. I'd say your description of the argument is about 75% accurate and your 'refutation' of it maybe 10% (and that's being generous). I'm on the road now, but if you'd like to inerview me for your podcast perhaps we can arrange something when I'm back.
ReplyDeleteSye, very Interesting. That bad eh?
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the offer and we would love for you to come on the show to submit your corrections to my blunders.
Let me know when you get back.

I thought your talk was really interesting. I'd never heard of classifying apologetics as traditional, evidentialist and presuppositional before, but that really does make a lot of sense. Now I've realized I've argued against people who have used presuppositional arguments before, and I thought saying they were just being incredibly presumptuous. It turns out, that was their whole point. :)
